Previews for Sam and Sasha’s elopement at The Wedding Tree in Jackson, WY!

Sam and Sasha have been to the Tetons several times so they didn’t really need much help planning their day. They booked an Air bnb over the pass in Victor, ID, which was a haul from Colter Bay but worth it for how clean and full of natural light the space was.

Luckily there was a big, grassy field right in the backyard for their first look photos. Afterwards, we left for The Wedding Tree. The bull moose were out and about along the Gros Ventre River on our way in and cottonwoods were in full, vibrant fall colors.

They held their ceremony at The Wedding Tree, which was about as perfect of a day as it gets in Grand Teton with small fluffy clouds, blue skies, a light breeze, and cooler temps. Their family had picked up flowers from Whole Foods along the way in and nailed the fall aesthetic, and spent a few moments in the parking lot putting Sasha’s bouquet together.

Afterwards, we traveled to Mormon Row. Mormon Row is a little rough this year with the construction and a crazy number of brides and staged shoots happening. There was a line of brides waiting for one particular shot at one of the barns, which is such an uncool way to spend your couples’ photos imo. The day should be about their experience and images, not the photographer’s portfolio. Anyways…

We popped over to Schwbachers Landing to finish the night, which is generally more of the same, except I know a separate area to go so we only saw one other bride. A lot of the aspens lost their leaves early this year but the cottonwoods are absolutely going off and is making for a pretty spectacular fall. It’s hard to time the fall colors out here but they really nailed it. It seems that lastish week of September is really the move if you want peak foliage.
